Causes we support
Being a compensation law firm with a community conscience is in our blood. Supporting worthy causes is an integral part of our value set at Travis Schultz & Partners and we are dedicated to making a positive difference for the people and causes in our region and beyond.
Our team are active participants in a number of community endeavours and support local charities and initiatives from making minor contributions to groups saving orangutans in Asia, to minimising use of plastic, launching large scale charity events like the Wishlist Spring Racing Gala and supporting animal refuge charities and many other worthy initiatives. Some of the key community causes and initiatives the team support are outlined below.
Boards and giving back to the profession
Travis Schultz served as a Councillor on the Board of the Queensland Law Society (QLS) in 2018 and 2019. He was Chair of the QLS Governance Committee and served on the Professional Conduct Committee, Committee of Management and Executive Committee.
He also serves the community through his role as Deputy Chair of the Board of Matthew Flinders Anglican College, past Chairman of the Matthew Flinders Foundation, as a Queensland Director of the Lifeflight Foundation and as a Board Member of the Sunshine Coast Turf Club.
Travis remains active with the Australian Lawyers Alliance and is a regular presenter at conferences for a range of organisations including the Australian Lawyer’s Alliance, the National Australian Lawyers Alliance, the Queensland Law Society, Lexus Nexus and others.
Working with the Suncoast Community Legal Service over the years has been deeply rewarding for Travis and his team too. Together, six members of the Travis Schultz & Partners team give free advice through a number of Centres. Travis was honoured when they made him a life member after serving as a volunteer solicitor and working on the committee for more than a decade.
Wishlist
Wishlist is dedicated to fundraising for the needs of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service with funding ranging from support of innovative medical research to purchasing vital equipment and upgrading services.
The TSP team believe this organisation’s work is a vital part of improving the lives of the Sunshine Coast community. One of our inspirations, The Spring Racing Gala for Wishlist, has raised more than $1.2m since its inception and is now the biggest and most successful annual fundraising event on the Sunshine Coast.

Charity bike rides
Avid cyclists and sporting enthusiasts, Travis Schultz, Michael Callow and several other members of the team have been heavily involved in organising charity rides over the years. Collectively, the charity-focussed events have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for causes, including the Hear and Say Centre, SunnyKids, Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and other community causes.

SunnyKids Winemakers Masterclass Fundraiser
The crew at SunnyKids believes everyone deserves a fair go and they work tirelessly to break intergenerational cycles of poverty and disadvantage. The vision of the organisation is for a society in which everyone feels safe, belongs and has a chance to reach their full potential.
The TSP team are fully committed and aligned with the SunnyKids mission and host a major annual Winemakers Masterclass fundraiser for the organisation. To date, the event has raised in excess of $495,000 and in 2019 raised an incredible $149,000 at one event.
This event has run for several years now bringing winemakers together with a highly enthusiastic audience.
Guests have enjoyed five courses matched with wines from four different winemakers who are all there to talk about their wares. Each year the event has been a great success for SunnyKids and the guests had a great time along the way!

Travis Schultz & Partners Wine Symposium
The Wine Symposium was first initiated in 2009 as a way of connecting professionals from across the Sunshine Coast, members of the community and some of our favourite wineries and winemakers to sip on some fine wine from all around the world.
After a five-year break, we were thrilled to bring back the successful soiree in 2020 for a cause close to our heart. More than 450 local business leaders dug deep to help raise $8,500 in critical funds for RACQ LifeFlight Sunshine Coast.

Ambassador roles
Buderim Foundation
As a Buderim resident it made sense for Travis to accept the invitation to become ambassador to the Buderim Foundation which receives donations and bequests and distributes them among Buderim based community organisations as grants.
He is proud to support this philanthropic not-for-profit outfit which since its launch in 2004, the Foundation has awarded $551,920 to 80 community organisations in the 4556 postcode area and distributed $165,950 worth of Back-to-School vouchers… a benefit of nearly $718,000 to the local community.
Student Athlete Awards
These awards provided funding and media recognition to assist talented but under-resourced junior athletes across the Sunshine Coast. The awards ran for a number of years and made such a difference to the children involved.
