Event date: 20 March 2025

On Thursday 20th March 2025 over 200 members of the legal community came together once again to join us for the SCLS Wine Dinner. Thanks to our community’s generosity, this year an incredible $45,000 was raised. Now in its fifth year, this annual fundraising event welcomes guests for a great evening of raising essential funds for the Suncoast Community Legal Service (SCLS) while tasting some of Australia’s best wines. Everything raised goes towards ensuring access to justice for the most vulnerable in the local community.

The evening featured a three-course meal paired with premium wines from the award-winning Geoff Merrill Wines, with insights shared from the winemaker Geoff Merrill. Fundraising efforts were bolstered through a raffle and a live auction led by Grant Smith from Century 21.

The inspiring keynote speech was delivered by the Honourable Deb Frecklington MP, Queensland Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity. The Attorney-General highlighted the importance of community legal services and access to justice, and how these services are being supported.

Thank you to our generous sponsors for their support: Toomey Family Law, SV Partners, Coastline BMW and Lumme Rynderman Legal.

We are grateful to the community and profession for their ongoing involvement to support the vital work of the SCLS, meaning more people can get help with legal issues. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening. We look forward to seeing you all next year.

The Suncoast Community Legal Service was founded in 1984. Their mission at SCLS has always been to ensure adequate and meaningful access to justice for vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community. As an independent community organisation, SCLS serves as a first point of contact for free advice and referral services and rely on the support and generosity of Sunshine Coast lawyers, volunteers and the public.
