Prominent Sunshine Coast and Brisbane-based lawyer Travis Schultz has been appointed to the Board of the LifeFlight Foundation, a community-based organisation that funds and supports the emergency aeromedical services of LifeFlight Australia.

LifeFlight helped more than 5,300 people in 2017, including 499 on the Sunshine Coast and 634 in Brisbane.

LifeFlight Foundation CEO Leanne Angel (pictured above with Australian LifeFlight board member, Rod Forrester and Travis Schultz) said Mr Schultz was chosen because of his legal expertise and his community links to the Sunshine Coast.

“Travis came highly recommended by a number of people and we are very fortunate to have him as part of our Board. His strong community values and his record of connecting with the community and giving back were what attracted him to us,” Ms Angel said.

The principal of Travis Schultz Law joins fellow notable Board members: The Honourable Rob Borbidge AO, former Premier of Queensland; Merren McArthur, CEO of Tigerair Australia; Alan Godbee, Director of Godbee Savaro Accountants; and Ashley van de Velde, who founded the organisation in 1981.

LifeFlight Foundation is one of Australia’s leading charities, which helps fund the operation of nine rescue helicopters, three air ambulance jets and a team of 400-plus staff.

Mr Schultz said he was honoured to join the LifeFlight Foundation Board.

“It’s extremely worthwhile to be contributing my skills to an organisation that gives every Queenslander access to emergency aeromedical care, at no cost,” Mr Schultz said.

“I’m pleased to be part of the Foundation’s Board, which helps ensure that LifeFlight delivers the best services to those in need of critical care and maximum value to the Foundation’s generous donors and partners.”

Mr Schultz sits on a number of other charity and school boards on the Sunshine Coast, he is a Councillor of the Queensland Law Society (QLS) and a Life Member of the Sunshine Coast Community Legal Service.
