Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP) has reinforced its reputation as Queensland’s leading personal injury law firm with the appointment of Special Counsel Amanda Gilmour – increasing its team of QLS Accredited Specialists in Personal Injury Law to eight, the highest number of any firm in the state.

With more than 17 years of experience exclusively in plaintiff personal injury law, including a decade as an Accredited Specialist, Amanda’s appointment further strengthens TSP’s senior legal capability across both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Travis Schultz, Managing Partner of Travis Schultz & Partners, says that Amanda’s arrival marks an important milestone in the firm’s growth and strategic direction.

“For a firm focused on providing industry-leading expertise within a values-led culture, hiring highly skilled and principled lawyers is critical,” Mr Schultz said.

“Amanda is an exceptional lawyer – highly credentialed and deeply principled. We’re thrilled that someone of her calibre, who also aligns so perfectly with our vision and purpose, has chosen to join TSP.

“Expertise matters, and we’re committed to ensuring our clients have access to the best legal minds in the profession. I’m very proud that TSP now holds the highest number of QLS Accredited Specialists of any law firm in Queensland – across all fields of practice.”

Ms Gilmour has built a strong reputation in personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on complex claims involving catastrophic injuries, head trauma and medical negligence. Equally committed to mentoring junior lawyers, she is passionate about contributing to the profession while continuing to deliver outcomes that matter for clients.

“What I value most about this area of law is that it’s really about people – helping and supporting individuals who have been injured through no fault of their own,” Ms Gilmour said.

“Many of my clients have never dealt with the legal system before and can be against insurers that don’t always treat them fairly. I’m passionate about guiding them through the process, making sure they feel heard and informed, so they can get back on their feet as best as possible.”

Despite her highly credentialed background, Ms Gilmour maintains a grounded and approachable style that puts clients at ease.

“My approach is to be real and authentic – working with clients in a way that is clear, compassionate and grounded, while delivering the legal expertise needed to ensure they feel supported and achieve the best possible outcome.”

She said joining TSP was a natural next step.

“What drew me to TSP was the firm’s fairness to clients and its expertise – both in outcomes and how matters are conducted. TSP is known not only for its expertise but for doing the right thing by people. I’m excited to be part of a team that is client-centred in its offering.”

Amanda now joins a powerhouse team of Accredited Specialists across the state:

  • Hugh Powell – Sunshine Coast & Brisbane

As a member of the QLS Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee, Amanda also helps shape the future of personal injury law in Queensland. She serves as Director of Concussion Australia Ltd, a not-for-profit committed to improving education and support in the head trauma space.

“When clients engage a TSP lawyer, they’re getting more than just support – they’re getting genuine expertise delivered with compassion,” Mr Schultz added.

“Amanda’s appointment is another example of our commitment to assembling the best – and most trusted – legal talent in the field.”
