Rachel Last

We are super proud of our Associate Lawyer, Rachel Last, who was announced a finalist this week in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in the Wellness Advocate category.

These awards recognise the young rising stars within the legal industry aged 30 and under who excel in their chosen field, displaying key leadership qualities such as dedication, professionalism and eagerness to grow both themselves and their firm.

Rachel said that she was humbled to be recognised and proud to be named as a finalist in Wellness Advocate category in the 30 Under 30 awards 2021.

“I have always been a strong advocate for mental health and wellbeing, particularly in the legal profession,” Rachel said.

“I refuse to not talk about the elephant in the room just because it might make some people uncomfortable – the more we talk about it, the easier the conversations become and the greater opportunity we have to provide support to our peers and find solutions.”

“Being a finalist is also a great opportunity to recognise my team here at Travis Schultz & Partners.

“Together we are team of compensation lawyers with compassion, focused on delivering exceptional client service.

“This recognition shines a light on our contribution to the compensation law space and reinforces the strength of our service and dedication to connecting with the community and engaging with clients,” she added.

The annual 30 Under 30 awards program, run in partnership with principal partner Taylor Root, offers finalists and winners a range of experiences and opportunities that extends far beyond their winning moment.

The finalist list, which was announced on 3 May 2021, features more than 280 high-achieving legal professionals across 30 submission-based categories.

Lawyers Weekly deputy editor Jerome Doraisamy said the age of the coronavirus has put enormous pressure, both personally and vocationally, on the emerging generation of leaders in Australia’s legal profession.

“It is clear, however, that those coming through the ranks have excelled during this time, and 30 Under 30 is the perfect opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the myriad accomplishments of that cohort,” Mr Doraisamy said.

“On behalf of Lawyers Weekly, I would like to congratulate all of the finalists, and I wish them the very best of luck for their respective categories.”

The winners of the awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner on Friday, 11 June, at The Star, Sydney.
