Kimia Zarei

Our newest recruit, associate lawyer, Kimia Zarei, knew from a young age she loved working with people and wanted to make a difference in the lives of those who needed help.

“I was lucky enough to get my foot in the door in the legal industry when I was 18 years old, landing my first job as a legal secretary at a property law firm,” Kimia Zarei said.

Since then, Kimia has worked across several industry sectors, bringing an array of legal experience to the TSP team.

Since her career began in 2015, Kimia has prioritised supporting her clients to feel empowered and heard while navigating their legal journey by working with them rather than for them.

Kimia grew up always wanting to help people, which has attracted her to areas of law with clients at the forefront of the job, for example, personal injuries law, criminal law, migration and refugee law, as well as taking on pro bono work and volunteering.

Kimia says she’s excited to join our growing team and will be working towards becoming a specialist in the three core areas of personal injury claims.

In addition to her associate role, Kimia is passionate about giving back to the legal community by donating her time to the LGBTI legal service and serving as a Queensland Young Lawyers (QYL) committee member.

With a commitment to volunteering, Kimia believes that anyone in a position of power or privilege should take the time to assist others who may not necessarily have the means. For her, it’s about trying to bridge the access to justice gap as much as possible.

In terms of her work for QYL, Kimia wanted to make a positive difference in the profession and help to create opportunities for learning and growth for other young lawyers, as well as helping to create a diverse network and community for those lawyers to be a part of.

In the near future, Kimia plans to start volunteering again at Caxton Legal Service, LawRight and begin with Bayside Community Legal Service.

Kimia was a clear fit for our expanding team as a young gun, demonstrating our fundamental values. You only have to look at Kimia’s experience and current additional commitments to the legal profession to know that she is passionate about doing what it takes to ensure her clients receive the best possible outcome.

Not only is Kimia a well-rounded lawyer, but she’s also warm, extremely generous with her time and is a person who aligns with our guiding values of fairness, respect and compassion. We are thrilled to welcome her to our fast-growing team.

Kimia shared that she feels fortunate to work with a team whose morals align with hers.

“TSP’s clients can access cutting-edge expertise without the price tag. The firm has some of the best lawyers in the country, including highly awarded lawyers and accredited specialists in all areas of compensation law,” Kimia said.

“They’re passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of people within our community, which is exactly the kind of support everyone deserves when navigating a difficult and traumatic time of their life.”

TSP was founded in 2018 with the aim of doing compensation law differently. We’re proud to boasts six Queensland Law Society (QLS) Accredited Specialists who working from our offices in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Cairns.
