Founder Travis Schultz has attained a high level of professional excellence during the course of his career, holding unique expertise as a commercial litigation and accident lawyer in the areas of compensation, motor vehicle and public liability law.
Travis has developed an exceptionally positive reputation as one of Queensland’s leading accident lawyers. In 2017, he was the only lawyer in Queensland to be ranked in Doyle’s Guide in the top ranking category in three separate areas of personal compensation law. See further verification in the Doyle’s Guide.
As someone deeply motivated to ensure access to justice is accessible for everyone, a major pillar of Travis Schultz Law is to take no win, no pay litigation to the next level by extending its operation to civil litigation, professional negligence and insurance disputes.
Michael and Travis have known each other since Michael moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1992. It was only a few short years later that Travis and Michael found themselves working together at the same firm and later became partners in the practice in 1996. They remained in partnership together until their previous firm was acquired by a multi-national firm in late 2014. He was keen to join the Travis Schultz Law team as the firm’s vision and values of genuine expertise, community engagement and social justice are aligned to those he has shared with Travis over their years in practice together.
Michael has been a dedicated supporter of a number of Community Legal Centres over his career. He has served on the Board of Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and on the Crick-Eastham Foundation. He achieved the qualification of becoming a Queensland Law Society accredited specialist and remains a passionate advocate for education of the motoring public on sharing the roads with cyclists.
Renowned for his limitless number of dad jokes, he is also a lifelong endurance athlete having competed in 70.3 (half-ironman) events, running numerous marathons (including New York and Boston) and the gruelling Race Across America (in 2015). His next goal is to participate in the London and Berlin Marathons (if his calves hold up to all the training!).

Travis first met Amy while he was tutoring in Business Law and Ethics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. At the time, the university was a client of his law firm and Amy was working for a small firm at Maroochydore and ready for a new challenge. One morning, Amy and Travis had a cup of coffee and they’ve been working together ever since. That was more than 12 years ago! Amy is now our Managing Law Clerk, and is closely involved in every case. She looks after our IT and recording needs, and is a keen internal environmental officer, making sure we do the right thing to protect our local area.
Kelly had just graduated university when Travis first met her more than 12 years ago, working at a building company. She was Amy’s best friend and Amy put her forward as someone who would do a great job working with us managing client matters. Although Kelly has had periods away from work to raise her children, she has always been an integral part of our team and we can’t imagine this business without her. Since Kelly holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Management), she was the obvious fit for our Practice Manager role. Kelly will still undertake some hands on work on files with us, but will primarily be the primary point of contact for all practice management queries.
Elle began working for Travis as a 19 year old fresh out of business school. She started as one of his junior assistants, but quickly demonstrated considerable talent and took on progressively more senior roles in the team. By pure coincidence, Elle married a former client of Travis’s who he acted for some years earlier. Some eight years later, Elle and Travis find themselves still working together and enjoying a joke and some irreverent humour! At Travis Schultz Law, Elle will be the primary source of executive support and will look after everything from client enquiries and diary management, to organising appointments and typing. She will also be a point of contact for clients that can’t reach Travis and will help him find his keys, wallet and phone everyday.
Inga hails from Iceland and first started working with Travis, Amy and Kelly back in 2006 as a legal secretary in the litigation team at Travis and Michael’s former practice. Apart from some brief periods when she was off work on maternity leave, Inga has now been a part of the team serving Travis’ clients for over a decade. Renowned for her eye for detail, Inga is the quiet achiever who types, collates material and supports the lawyers in their administration and client focussed work. She may be softly spoken, but Inga is fiercely determined to get the job done right. Inga’s three energetic children keep her busy when she’s not at work.
Kylie first started working for Travis Schultz in 2008 when he was a partner at Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers (STO), and in time became his main Executive Assistant overseeing the junior secretarial staff in the Litigation Department. Prior to joining STO Kylie had a diverse background travelling the world and working in a variety of industries including the music industry while living in London and perhaps the most unusual role was that of a cat-sitter while she was in Paris.
With the many years of experience Kylie brings to this role, her exceptional secretarial and organisational skills and an understanding of personal injury and compensation law, has meant that she has fitted right back into this dynamic little team.
A self-confessed fitness fanatic, Kylie can often be spotted running up and down Mount Coolum or riding her mountain bike around the coast trails. She has even trekked to Everest Base Camp and is constantly finding new ways to push her fitness limits.
