Personal injury and compensation law firm, Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP), has taken out the highest accolade at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards last night as Business of the Year, after also winning the Professional Services Category (large), for the third year in a row.

There were over 850 people in attendance of the awards gala held at Sunshine Coast Convention Centre and with 143 finalists across 17 industry categories the Business of the Year is arguable the Sunshine Coast’s most coveted business award.

The win comes off the back of a year of significant growth for the TSP team which now sits at 55 employees across its Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns offices.

TSP Managing Partner Travis Schultz, said he was both incredibly humbled and honoured to see the TSP team’s dedication rewarded with these accolades.

“I could not be prouder of our team today. This award recognises the commitment of each and every person that has helped TSP grow from just five people when we opened our doors in 2018, to more than 50 exceptional people today,” Mr Schultz said.

“We are also extremely grateful for the support we have received from the local community — a community we are proud to serve in our ongoing mission to provide industry leading expertise but with a lower fee promise.”

“Considering the extremely high calibre of the businesses here on the Sunshine Coast — many of which were our fellow finalists and category winners— taking out these prestigious awards is a real honour and something we will truly treasure.”

“The Sunshine Coast is blessed with so many exceptional businesses operated by talented and entrepreneurial owners and managers – so for TSP to be announced as overall business of the year is an enormous honour, though almost embarrassing to take the coveted crown ahead of other category winners.”

Alongside these awards, TSP is now automatically inducted into the Hall of Fame having won its category for a third time in the large Professional Services category.

TSP CEO Kelly Phelps echoed Mr Schultz’s sentiment that the recognition was thanks to the firm’s exceptional and committed team.

“Above all, I wish to thank our compassionate and committed TSP team, who have established themselves as an industry leading group of talented professionals who turn up to work every day with a positive attitude and an unwavering enthusiasm for improving the lives of our clients,” Ms Phelps said.

“While we may now be recognised on the national stage alongside other large compensation law firms, TSP remains true to its core values of fairness, respect and compassion, and we continue to value the place and community where it all started, here on the Sunshine Coast.”

Mr Schultz agreed that TSP’s commitment to engaging with and supporting the local community was a large contributor to the success of the firm.

“This journey has convinced me that — whether you believe in karma of not — the more you give by supporting your community and its various causes; the more, over time, your kindness will be repaid in spades.

“I wish to congratulate all the finalists in our category including the winner of the Professional Services Category (Small) – The Organised Creative. We are esteemed to be in the company of such an impressive group of businesses.

“I would also like to thank the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance, the Awards Committee and the judges for providing a rigorous awards process as well as the professional services category sponsor, The End Game, for making these awards possible.”

TSP’s head office is based on the Sunshine Coast as well as having offices in Brisbane City, Cairns and the Gold Coast. The firm manages compensation claims for clients across a range of areas including insurance and personal injury cases.
