TSP Appointment Announcement. Grid photo of four new lawyers headshots

We are thrilled to welcome no less than three lawyers to the firm this month, growing the team of lawyers to 16.

Welcoming Lawyer Andrew Evans to our one-year young regional practice in Cairns, as well as Senior Associate Candice Heisler and Associate Karla Macpherson to the Brisbane office. Together, the three recruits add 20 years of experience to the firm’s personal injury law expertise.

In the wake of the firm’s fifth anniversary this year, Travis Schultz and I reflected on starting out with a bare-bones team of five back in 2018. It would have been impossible to imagine during that opening year that we would grow into a team of over 55 dedicated and value-driven people.

Brisbane

We are pleased to introduce our new appointment, Candice Heisler. Being part of a family of nurses, Candice followed the family path towards Health, and completed work experience in the Mater Hospital during her studies. This developed into an interest in health law, which then developed more specifically, into an interest in personal injury law.

Now, with 12 years’ experience as a compensation lawyer, Candice is in a unique position to offer her clients the best of both worlds – Health and Law. With her passion for learning about medical conditions and treatments, combined with her skills for solving complex legal problems, she is a valued advisor to clients.

Also joining the team is Karla Macpherson. Having started as a Law Clerk in personal injury five years ago, Karla was committed to working in the industry during her studies and was admitted as a Lawyer in 2020.

With a love for learning, Karla is known for being patient and engaging – providing each person with her full attention to deeply understand the challenges of their story. Being someone who is motivated by a team environment, she enjoys the collaborative nature of Travis Schultz & Partners and is hardworking and reliable. Outside of work, you’ll find Karla promoting swim safety as a volunteer surf lifesaver.

Cairns

A FNQ local through and through, Andrew Evans is a very welcome addition to our budding Cairns office.

Having spent over seven years as a Soldier in the Australian army, Andrew’s later start in law has been advantageous in sharing a unique mix of skills and life experience to benefit his valued clients.

Andrew is three-years experienced in legal research and documentation, demonstrated in roles at the Cape York Land Council and Public Prosecutions Office in Cairns. Andrew has settled into his role as a Lawyer with energy and feels privileged to be in such a position, guiding and advising people during a very challenging time in their lives.

“I have seen first-hand the long-term effects that physical and psychological injuries can have on people. While all injuries can impact people in different ways, they all need someone they can trust to support them through the process of their recovery – as well as the process of the claim itself – which can be significantly stressful,” Mr Evans says.

Partner & Cairns Leader Beth Rolton shared, “Andrew has an incredibly strong work ethic and naturally solid people skills developed from the varied roles he has undertaken in his career. I am thrilled to have Andrew on board as part of our growing team.”

Sunshine Coast

Finally, in June 2023, our very own Aiden Warneke was admitted into the legal profession and is now working alongside our team of Sunshine Coast lawyers. Aiden has an extensive background in administration, training, and the provision of executive and paralegal support, having been with the team for over three years. Known for her approachability and willingness, Aiden is a genuine and humble person to have by your side during possibly one of the toughest times in a clients life.

Travis Schultz & Partners prioritises respect and fairness and hire for culture and attitude as much as aptitude. Candice, Karla, Andrew, and Aiden share our values and commitment to personal service, and we know they will contribute positively to both our clients and team.
